Just thought I would set up early for my PEEPS!
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 06:12 PM
You're such a smartie RICHIE! Great idea. Rickey's is always hard to get onto during Idol nights.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 06:12 PM
Welcome PEEPS! looking forward to chatting with you all!
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 06:28 PM
Don't forget about the lunar eclipse. I'm not sure if all of you are where it can be seen but it's supposed to be viewable at 8:30 and then 11:30 I think.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:06 PM
Glad you like the idea, BECKI!
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:07 PM
No seeing any eclipse here, BECKI. Quite overcast, and snowing.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:12 PM
Kristi Lee up first. She sings Rescue me, doing this weird eye thing that is oddly reminding me of Constantine. Otherwise, pleasant voice, kind of boring version.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:15 PM
Several sick girls... Doesn't sound like a great night.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:18 PM
Joanne up next. Singing I Say A Little Prayer. Voice is a bit thin and sharp. She is a gorgeous girl. Nice but unimpressive performance.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:29 PM
Alaina up next. Very young. Singing 'I Love You More Today.' Great energy. Best so far, as much as that matters.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:33 PM
Amanda is next. Rickey must be so excited. He luvs her. I am already getting bored by her. And I hope Becki and Save show up soon so I can stop talking to myself.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:38 PM
Amanda sings 'Please Don't Go,' sounding remarkably like every other performance she has done, only nervous. Not working for me at all.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:41 PM
I know the song, in fact I have it somewhere, and I think she was a bit all over the place.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 07:46 PM
Sorry RICHIE. I having been feeling well lately so was slowly sinking into the couch. I am getting bored with Amanda as well. I honestly don't really care for her voice. I'm not a Janis Joplin fan either so I guess I will always disagree with the judges on her. The others have done well but were a little off here and there and yes, Kristi's eye motions were a little too much. Take some lessons from ACE people. He knew exactly how to eye the camera. Oh, how I miss seeing him on Idol.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:48 PM
Amy Davis up next. She is pretty. 'Where The Boys Are' started really badly. She is struggling. This is bad. I am sure soe of the notes she is hitting are right, I just can't figure out which ones...
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:49 PM
No problem BECKI, I was just typing away and hoping someone wouldn't think I was rambling to myself.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:50 PM
Ace did now how to work the camera. Those eyes of his, man, they just drew me in.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 07:52 PM
Amy Davis is pretty and of course the camera loves her because it's probably being run by some 45 year old lonely guy. She was flat, rather boring, and overly sexual especially at the beginning of the song.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 07:53 PM
That sounds so mean. I don't dislike her at all. In fact, this is the first time I've really even noticed her. Unfortunately, it was for something bad.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:53 PM
Pure as the driven snow Brooke is next singing 'Happy Together.' I love this Turtle song. I preferred David C's version last night. When she sings it, I get a feeling I am watching Shirley Jones in the Partridge Family.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:55 PM
Brooke's husband is VERY hot. I'd vote for him.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 07:57 PM
At this point, the girls are making the boys look better.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 07:58 PM
Well, I did reply but then it asked me if I wanted to delete it and I said no and it seemed to have anyway. Interesting.
I thought Brooke did pretty good, though a bit basic.
She is rather 'innocent' isn't she? Dare I say possibly even more so than me? And I haven't got the bedside benefits of a lovely husband.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:04 PM
Yes, BECKI, she is more innocent than you. I am wondering if she is still a virgin. I would offer to help the hubby with his, uhm, tension.
Spinning Wheel up next, with Aleandrea. Unimpressive. And the dancing, well, a bit on the spastic side.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:09 PM
Criminy. I hope they are not going to pull that whole "I can't believe you're only ..." thing again. That's gonna make me NOT want to vote for those people. They should just give them a contract if they're gonna be that way.
Didn't care for Alexandrea. The song, the voice, the I'm happy but don't mess with me thing. She reminds me of Rihanna and I do not like Rihanna.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:12 PM
Hahahaha. Oh RICHIE. You're hilarious. I highly doubt the marriage bed has gone unused but I also have a feeling they don't do as many 'things' as some couples do. You'd think people would have learned by now that I don't want to hear about their, ahem, adventures, but they still seem to like to tell me. I guess I can say if I ever do get married, I'm going to have a lot of ideas.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:15 PM
BECKI, you have a point, but she is not as evil as Rihanna. Kady Malloy up next. I like her admitting to unhealthy obsessions. She is singing 'A Groovy Kind Of Love,' which is not a great song, but she is singing it surprisingly well. When she pushes on the big notes, she can lose pitch, but otherwise good.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:18 PM
That song is from the 60s? Did Phil Collins remake it? I like the song and liked Kady's version though I did think she was a bit nasally (Is that still considered a form of songing?!) in parts.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:19 PM
Ideas are a great thing, BECKI.
Asia'h is up next. I am already bored of the dead-dad story.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:21 PM
Yes, Phil remade the song. Was originally sung by the Mindbenders, with lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager.
Asia'h singing 'Piece OF My Heart.' Started badly, worked the way up to mediocre.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:24 PM
Asia'h shouldn't have chosen that song with Amanda having sung it earlier in the audtion process. I don't really care for her voice. Is it just me? Am I hearing too much nasal in it? She's cute, seems nice, and it's nice to hear people's backgrounds, where they come from and all that. But I got so irritated in Season 5 with Kellie Pickler's thing always being about how her dad was in jail and her mom abandoned her that I don't want to hear that stuff week after week. Hopefully, if she stays, it won't become a part of her story every time.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:27 PM
Ramiele up next. Still waiting for that great performance. Wouldn't it be funny if Carly delivers it, after all the controversy?
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:28 PM
RICHIE, you are the man to go to with music questions! I had no idea "Groovy" was written by Carole Bayer Sager.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:29 PM
Oh, no, she is tackling Dusty Springfield's 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me,' and RICKEY will list it as Nadia Turner's song. Nice voice, boring so far.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:31 PM
Remember, I have a quirky life, and an obsessive fondness for Carole Bayer Sager. Didn't I send you mp3s from her album?
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:32 PM
Ramiele got good at the end. Best singer on a rough night.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:32 PM
Yes, you did RICHIE. I still have them too. I thought I replied to them. We sent so many mp3s back and forth at that time, they probably got lost in the pile.
Ramiele is so cute. I thought she did pretty good. Not my favorite of the night but not bad.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:34 PM
How interesting that we posted at the same time yet think differently on Ramiele!
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:36 PM
Well, I will admit I liked the ending for Ramiele, but that doesn't mean I thought she was great. So far, no greatness tonight, and the boys are looking much better than they did 24 hours ago. Only 2 girls left to try.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:38 PM
No lunar eclipse here yet tonight, plus we have a REALLY big and full tree in the way...and my dad's chainsaw is broken. Dag-nabbit!
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:38 PM
Syesha and then Carly. I hope she shouts less.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:41 PM
Well, looks like BECKI can escape the Chainsaw Massacre syndrome.
Syesha sings Tobacco Road. Not loving it.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:42 PM
They love her. She will make my ears bleed by mid-season.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:44 PM
I really liked that performance. Syesha is adorable and seems very nice and was really good. Strong vocals.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:45 PM
That's true RICHIE. Hopefully, she won't rely too much on her high vocals and will try to give us a taste of everything she's got. Would be cool to see if she can sing low and slow.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:47 PM
So, of course, the fabled Irish Girl will close the first show, the ultimate in pimp spots. It won't take much for her to look good compared to what we have seen tonight.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:48 PM
How did you become a 'member' and I have 'just entered the universe'? Does it go by how many posts you've put through?
I like having just entered the universe. It fits actually!
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:49 PM
All of the people in this year's competition have amazing skin!
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:49 PM
Carly singing 'The Shadow Of Your Smile,' and she sounds good, but not particular 'today' the way Simon wants them. Should be interesting. On the other hand, she is another shouter.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:51 PM
Becki, it is judged on the number of posts. Obviously I have too many.
And Randy just called that the best vocal this week. Hmmm.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:53 PM
"Sick is not an excuse" is such a kiss-up to the judges. It IS easily an excuse. I've gone MANY days without singing because I've been sick because not only do you sound bad but you strain your vocals even more and then sound just as bad even when you're well.
I thought it was good. It will be interesting to see the dynamics and the competition between her and Syesha as the shouts continue.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:54 PM
So, who do you think is going home? I am thinking Amy and Joanne. I would suggest Amanda, but I bet she has Soul Patrol fans, which will keep her safe.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:56 PM
Sick is an excuse, but when you have to deliver on a certain day, being sick means you can go home to your family doctor. However, I do think she was kissing up, and I don't think Randy & Pauler should be calling Carly a 'total pro.' Do they not see the press?
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:57 PM
Wow, Randy thought the girls were better. I am in a different universe.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 08:59 PM
I agree on Amy and though I liked Joanne, she will probably be leaving too yes. Unfortunately. Hm, yes, I am guessing Amanda probably does have some hardcore fans already that will tie up the lines with calls for her. I still think they need to figure out a way to make it so one household can't call a zillion times for one person. There'd be a lot more truth in the competition if that were the case. I thought it was one bottom guy and one bottom girl that will leave. It's TWO bottom girls and TWO bottom guys? I think I ask this every season actually!
richie
February 20th, 2008, 08:59 PM
OK, Seacrust needs to stop this childish I will not thank Simon at the end of the show thing. Idiotic.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 09:00 PM
Yep, two of each for 3 weeks, then the Top 12 begins.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 09:03 PM
I would glady tell Seacrest to hush if I were up there with him. I'd like to ask him how long he spends planning his comebacks because they seem so planned and he always looks like he is waiting for his oppurtunity to say something.
Thanks for the clarification RICHIE. For some reason, I can never remember that.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 09:05 PM
No problem, babe. I am here to remember the little things.
So I am going to a concert tomorrow night in Philadelphia, and will miss the results show. I am thinking Garrett and Chikezie for the boys, and AMy and Joanne for the girls.
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 09:06 PM
Well, the lunar eclipse - they just said on the news - is supposed to occur within the next ten minutes so I think I will go walk around the back porch and see if I can get another view that won't be obstructed by that darn tree!
I've got to get up early tomorrow - I brought the gift shop key home with me by mistake and must return it before another volunteer comes in to open tomorrow. I'd do it now but going in to drop off a key at 10 PM seems rather shady! Hahaha!
Becki
February 20th, 2008, 09:07 PM
Chikezie definitely. I'm not too sure about who the other guy will be. There are some others I thought may have not been voted for but they had also been consistently good so may have fans who want to give them another chance.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 09:14 PM
Have a good time.
richie
February 20th, 2008, 09:15 PM
I think Luke should go, but think the handsome boy will be saved by lusty votes. But I don't think he will make the top 12.
lotus
February 24th, 2008, 01:58 PM
I love lusty votes!
richie
February 26th, 2008, 07:05 PM
Don't know if anyone will be here tonight, but I will give it a try.
Michael Johns, singing Fleetwood Mac. Not bad, but not great either. And needs to stop bouncing.

Hey, SAVE! I like him too, but thought that was not his best.
richie
February 26th, 2008, 07:17 PM
Luke & Killer Queen - way better this week. And still pretty. A little self-indulgent, perhaps, but such is life. He is pretty.

Which one were you thinking dirty things about? All 3 of the first are possibilities. But not so much with the faux Vince Neil coming up...

Hello SAVE and RICHIE! I finally made my way on here.
So, far I have liked only David Hernandez and Michael Johns (that would be the Australian guy SAVE!)
David Cook needs to put the guitar away for a while and show us what else he has...if anything other than an average rocker's voice.

Yes, David Archuleta is very good. And, guess what, oh my God, he's only 17 (or 16) or whatever that was that Randy said every week with Jordin Sparks.
He is adorable. The Italian in me just wants to pinch his cheeks...the ones on his face RICHIE!

richie
February 26th, 2008, 08:29 PM
Well, there were no disasters tonight, but a few mediocre performances. I liked David A, Michael Johns, David H, and David C.
Too many Davids, one has to go I think.
richie
February 26th, 2008, 08:30 PM
SAVE, that would be a nice final two, but unless he loses his voice, I don't see who can stop David A.
Save
February 26th, 2008, 08:31 PM
Which one was David H?
Becki
February 26th, 2008, 08:33 PM
That would work well SAVE.
I told my mom last week that Michael Johns is like a mix of Ace and Chris because he's absolutely gorgeous (Ace) and seems really nice (Ace and Chris), has a bit of pop boy band and high notes in voice (Ace) and some grovel and rock (Chris) and will probably continue to remind us that he's married like Chris did either by showing off the left hand with the gargantuan band or will dedicate a song to his wife. I shall call him Chrace Youngtry!
richie
February 26th, 2008, 08:33 PM
DAvid Hernadez, cute and you will forget tomorrow. Apparently sooner....
Becki
February 26th, 2008, 08:34 PM
David Hernandez was the one that Simon said was the best vocal he had heard thus far. Short, almost crew cut black hair, tan skin.
richie
February 26th, 2008, 08:34 PM
Oddly, BECKI, he reminds me of neither, but I live in constant fear he will become Michael Bolton. Something about him scares me...
Becki
February 26th, 2008, 08:38 PM
RICHIE - Michael doesn't remind me of either on his own, or on their own - whichever way you would word that. A mixture yes - a very "You gotta really want to see it" type of mixture. I think I'm just trying to make up for the fact that it has been too frickin long since ACE has been on my TV screen and I miss him. :-(

Becki
February 26th, 2008, 08:46 PM
SAVE - You didn't notice the big ring on his left hand? That week when they showed everyone who'd made it to the top 24 and the whole long walk and tiny chairs, Michael talked about his wife being there to congratulate him when he made it. She is a petite 'blonde' woman.
richie
February 26th, 2008, 08:46 PM
SAVE, yes, he is married, and a bit boring. Pretty, yes, but boring too.
BECKI, I hear you, but the fear of Bolton over-rides everything for me.
Becki
February 26th, 2008, 08:52 PM
I am kinda half and half with Michael Bolton. I think he has a great voice but he needs to tone it down once in a while. It is not always necessary to hold out long and high notes in order to impress. I do think, though, that his music has probably made a lot of couples happy after a romantic evening. Nothing like a guy singing "Can I touch you there?" to get your point across!!! The gal is happy because she was wooed and the man is happy because, well, let's just leave it at that.
Save
February 26th, 2008, 08:53 PM
I wasn't looking at his hand. Nor do I pay much attention to what he says. It seems we have a rather superficial fantasy relationship, but so far it works for me.

richie

But the eyes weren't as bad as last week. But the wide stance was a bit odd. And the bouncy, bouncy, Simon-look-at-my-chest moves were pushing it a bit.
