Thanks for that Distant.
Even though it was only a snippet I really enjoyed Sanjaya's voice. It also sounded to me as if he he's been paying attention in class.
He sounded better and spoke better.

The djs in part 2 had some nice things to say about both Sanjaya and Shyamali. I wouldn't be surprised if their talent and poise didn't impress them both, epecially if they had just followed the regular storyline on Sanjaya.

The Universe expands!

I was concerned though as it sounds like his CD is a much more nebulous concept right now. I don't think we'll be hearing anything new from him anytime soon. :(

Loved the podcast. Revives my craving for an album of Standards from him - but after he does his own music, of course.

Yes, it does sound as if an album is far off, doesn't it? I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand I'm ready for some new songs from Sanjaya. I have played the 8 he recorded on AI until my dog knows the words. On the other hand, I can see the wisdom in developing his music career slowly through charity appearances and even approaching it indirectly via a TV show (if it ever happens) or a movie (which might be in the works?)

As anxious as I am for the world to see him as the marvelous talent he is, I'm also ok with waiting a bit longer if it puts his feet on more solid ground. I also think this strategy of "artist development" - i.e. dance classes & studying voice - is very smart. What he presents has got to be flawless.
